Campzone 2008

Update 19/07/2008 Part II,

I replaced both hinges with new ones, that indeed was the easy part. Leon and I figured that
the hinges were more important then the lock itself. We only use the lock so that the top lid
can’t fly away while driving 80km/h on the road.

Therefore I removed the lock and inspected it. At first I suspected that a key had broken
in the lock, but after further inspection the lock seemed clear. I tried the keys I had once
more and all of a sudden.. THE LOCK WORKED! hehe

So we now have a working lock and a fully working front gastank holder :-). WHIE! 😀

Update 19/07/2008

Started early in the caravan. A few small items were on the list

– Adding a wall outlet near our network connections ( for a 1GBIT Switch )
– Repairing the window in the kitchen
– Repairing the hinges of the gastank holder of the caravan.
– Cleaning and make an inventory whats there in the caravan

Doing the first two items was a breeze, also see the pics I made. The third
is a bit harder so it seems. One hinge is broken, and replacing it should be quite easy,
the problem only is. The lock is shut tight and I can’t get it to open ( or close ).

So basically I need to find a new lock mechanism somewhere..

Update 18/07/2008

Got the caravan! Today I moved the caravan from the storage facility to my house. In between I made a pitstop ( literally ) at the tyre shop. They looked at it, probably the seal between the rim and the tyre is not 100% flat anymore thus the tires are slowly leaking. They had a simple solution. These tires also fit innertubes! So all 3 wheels ( 2 on the caravan and the spare ) now have an innertube and are inflated again with N2. Also the wheels of my car are now filled with N2, instead of regular air.

Around 17:00 the caravan was back in front of my house. When I opened the caravan.. I SMELLED CAMPZONE.

And no.. No beer smell, or whatsoever, just campzone :). Caravan looks really nice and dry from the inside

I’ll start modding the caravan tomorrow. Pics will follow

Update 29/05/2008

As you might have read. Last year we changed the tyres on the caravan. The previous ones
were old.. Eh.. Very old.. eh.. no.. EXTREMELY old. ( 20+ ). The guy from the caravan
storage called us today. One of our new tyres is flat!!!!
