And the first week in the new TWL! How did I do this week?
- Weight: 106.6kg (-0.5kg)
- Chest: 106cm (no change)
- Waist: 105.0cm (-0,5cm )
- Belly: 106cm (no change)
- Body fat: 26,0% ( average last week 27.1% )
Most frustrating part for me at the moment is my fat percentage. It just doesn’t seem to want to go down. At first I blamed my Tanita scale, but the measurement device at the local gym gave more or less the same reading.
I still lost 0.5 kg, so I’m almost back on track with the –0.6 kg per week goal I set for myself (more or less). 🙂
My belt is starting to run out of holes. It won’t be long before I have to punch a new one — and possibly even shorten the belt itself! I’ve already lost over 10 cm in belly circumference and 7.5 cm around my waist, right where the belt sits.
I’ve decided to change up my gym routine. Instead of training two muscle groups per session (three times a week), I’m now doing more or less full-body workouts — with a slight emphasis on one area each time.
I’ll do this for the next two weeks, and then switch to a 6-day-per-week training routine — yep, I’m going all in during my holiday. And why not spend a bit of every morning at the gym?
I hope this will help stabilize my muscle mass. I’ve noticed a slight but consistent drop in muscle mass when looking at the trend data from the Tanita scale.
FODMAP
And a short update on the FODMAP front: I’m more and more convinced I’ve found my nemeses — lactose and the sugar alcohol family. And for those now thinking: Sugar alcohol family? Yes. The mannitols, xylitols, and sorbitols of this world.
Or as I call them: the fake sugar family.
Xylitol is pretty easy to avoid — just don’t chew sugar-free gum. Mannitol can be found in various vegetables, so that’s going to require some testing on my part.
And sorbitol? That one’s a real problem. It’s found in apples, pears, other fruits, and some vegetables as well.
And in case you didn’t notice yet: I really like my apples and pears. And, uh… yes… ehm… I kinda have almost 100 fruit trees.
(Yes. That’s a 1 with two consecutive zeros.)
Yikes.
The weight loss journey continues — next weigh-in in 7 days. Let’s see where it goes from here.
Brain out.
